Marketing and Communications Director

*Position based in Winnipeg, MB; relocation assistance available

Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with a leading Canadian retailer and distributor of home improvement / interior design goods and materials in their search for a Marketing and Communications Director.

Leading a talented team of marketing and creative professionals, the Marketing and Communications Director will lead the development and execution of the marketing plan for both the wholesale and retail businesses. You will also participate as a key member of the senior management team contributing to overall corporate strategic planning for areas of product growth and marketing initiatives.

The Director oversees all aspects of marketing and communications:
 
  • Branding / visual merchandising / retail & in-store marketing
  • Advertising / digital marketing / public relations
  • Internal communications
  • New product analysis and launch / tradeshows and events
  • Market analysis / partner marketing / marketing performance measurement


Qualifications:
 
  • 10+ years of consumer or retail marketing experience, with expertise in both traditional and digital marketing
  • 3+ years of experience in leading and developing a team
  • Performs well with a teamwork focus on achieving results
  • Excellent fiscal management experience, led by measurement of success in marketing initiatives and spends
  • Successful in applying a collaborative approach with team as well as inter-departmentally
  • University or college degree/diploma preferred
