Marketing Director

Are you the first person to write an online review for the newest restaurant in town? Is your resume filled with great experience with world-class hospitality brands? Do you need a big closet to hold all the hats you usually wear in your roles?

Our client, a national restaurant chain with locations across Canada is seeking an experienced, strategic & creative Marketing Director to join their team. This person will be responsible for planning and executing integrated marketing programs for the brand and all restaurants. The ideal candidate has the ability to think in a strategic and creative capacity, oversee the marketing team, and deliver outstanding results quarter after quarter.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Create and execute all marketing programs & initiatives from start to finish, including:
  • Developing briefs and delivering them to agency partners / internal stakeholders
  • Gaining the alignment of key internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with key partners (creative agencies, printers) & internal stakeholders to define, implement and execute the resulting tactics and initiatives
  • Conducting a post-mortem on the effectiveness of each project towards driving customers to restaurants
  • Ensuring that all programming, branding and materials seen by our guests are consistent with brand positioning
  • Analyzing results and developing recommendations for new initiatives and promotions
  • Manage the marketing budget, including budget forecasting - ensuring effective and efficient use of department spend
  • Continually stay informed about marketing trends to ensure marketing activities remain current, targeted and effective
  • Identify sponsorship opportunities to increase brand awareness
  • Provide support, structure and leadership to the marketing coordinator
 
Qualifications:
 
  • 7+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Post-secondary degree in marketing or a related field
  • Intimate understanding of agency and production processes
  • Experience managing marketing programs for hospitality organizations
  • Experience driving both traditional and digital marketing campaigns
  • Creative mindset with a great sense of design and compelling copy
  • Self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills, with an ability to multi-task several initiatives effectively
  • A great sense of humor
  • Ability to travel as required
