About the Opportunity 

STAT is looking to deepen their in-house creative expertise with this key role. The Marketing Copywriter will work collaboratively with all marketing functions as well as the Sales and Client Success teams. You’ll take the lead in bringing a distinctive, disarming, and authentic voice to everything from 12-word ad creative to long-form site copy. As an integral part of the STAT campaign strategy and execution team, you’ll constantly look to raise the bar on what highly converting copy looks like.
About You 
As an experienced marketing copywriter, you live and breathe the written word. You know how to take a paragraph and summarize it into a tweet within a minute and can make any piece of copy as interesting as the latest feature article on slate.com. You care as much about big-picture messaging strategy as you do the finer points of style, diction, and punctuation. You’re a quick study and have a knack for taking technical product copy and turning it into compelling messaging for experts in the industry.
Key Areas of Focus 
  • Copywriter. You’ll work with a range of teams to develop smart, original, and strategic creative that supports the company as a whole. From ideation to delivery, you’ll have a high degree of ownership over the whole process. Your day-to-day will involve a lot of focused variety, writing everything from ad creative, to sales collateral, to nurture emails, to landing pages, to tweets, to product sheets, to promotional scripts, and media releases. Just to name a few.
  • Audience expert. From ideation to execution, to testing and optimization, your persona-centric messaging is on-point and high-touch, delivering a memorable and a personalized brand experience.
  • Brand defender. You’ll be a key defender of our brand, reviewing all outbound communications to ensure everything is consistent, on-brand, and true to our distinctive voice — in short, something we can be proud of.
  • Project manager. You’ll serve as the main project manager for a selection of copy-first projects, such as website rewrites or sales tools. In some cases, you’ll coordinate with outside vendors and studios to execute special projects like product videos.
  • Website content lead. As the primary owner of our web content, you’ll work closely with our internal team to update, expand, optimize, and evolve our non-blog website copy.
  • Team member. You won’t be working as an island. You’re an integral part of the Marketing team and exhibit leadership in supporting the team to achieve company and department objectives. 
  • You have intermediate- to senior-level experience as a copywriter. That means you have a killer portfolio of samples showing a wide range of work.
  • You know how to work with, support, and refine an existing brand with a well-established voice.
  • You are well versed in the ins and outs of digital marketing, and are comfortable coming to the table with your own opinions about what works, what doesn’t, and how we can stand out from the crowd.
  • You have the kind of solid project management experience required to coordinate between multiple stakeholders, writers, and vendors. 
  • Bonus points if you have: 
    • Experience working in a B2B environment, even better if it’s B2B tech.
    • Working knowledge in SEO and search engine marketing.
    • Experience with WordPress back-end management.
    • Basic proficiency with HTML, CSS, and other key web technologies.

It's an online questionnaire that allows us to get to know you more in-depth: what you've achieved, where you want to go, your views on corporate culture. It takes about an hour to complete, but we promise the investment will be worth the return so we can find you a perfect match.


We then meet face-to-face with you to flush out your OCP further and get to know you on a personal level. If following this both parties see a great fit for the role in mind, we then introduce you to our client to go through their interview and hiring process.
