Smart, Savvy and Associates has partnered with one of Vancouver’s global software companies in their search for an experienced tech marketing leader. Headquartered in a new office space in the Yaletown district of Vancouver, this established organization is seeking an individual with a proven track record in demand generation, a ROI-focused mindset and a passion for working in a highly competitive market. This position is ideal for a collaborative, hands-on marketing leader who loves rolling up their sleeves to make things happen.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Marketing, you will lead a talented team in the delivery and execution of a marketing strategy that supports the company’s growth targets in 3+ key verticals. Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing plan and budget
  • Generate high quality sales leads through the successful execution of inbound and outbound lead generation strategies and marketing programs
  • Oversee the company’s global website, blog and social media channels to ensure optimized performance
  • Create and implement a content strategy to support demand generation and nurturing programs
  • Ensure the use of marketing automation and other technology (e.g Hubspot) adds strategic benefit to the Marketing function, operations and results
  • Collaborate with Product to develop compelling value propositions and messaging
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure alignment on marketing programs and lead quality, quantity and flow
  • Set and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities, including impact on sales pipeline and improvement on marketing ROI
  • Lead, coach and mentor Marketing team members
  • Identify and pursue joint marketing opportunities with partners
  • Work collaboratively with other organizational leaders to achieve overall company growth goals

Desired Skills & Experience
  • 15+ years of experience in B2B tech marketing (industry/vertical marketing experience an asset)
  • 5+ years of experience in leading a marketing team
  • Proven expertise in developing marketing campaigns and lead generation/nurturing strategies that deliver measurable results
  • Proven expertise in digital marketing strategies and techniques
  • Prior experience in working for at least one small to mid-sized company
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong ability to make pragmatic, fact based decisions that align to corporate objectives
  • Intelligent, strategic thinker with good judgment and the ability to translate strategy into operational goals, with a strong bias towards execution and results
  • Highly collaborative leader with strong interpersonal skills to drive engagement and participation at all levels, and a willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Willing to help your team execute on programs and campaigns
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing or related field
