Our client – an established global manufacturer based in Burnaby, BC - is seeking a creative, technical web professional to join its Marketing team. The ideal candidate not only understands the mechanics of the day-to-day fun of a Joomla implementation, but is also someone who is looking to leverage and develop their design talents and SEM/SEO expertise. This is an excellent opportunity that offers a diverse range of projects to help you progress professionally and personally, whilst making a significant contribution to the company’s digital presence.

Responsibilities

As a member of a high performing, tight-knit Marketing team, you will be responsible for:
  • Managing the company’s website, including SEO optimization and overall performance
  • Administering the back-end web servers, database and CMS systems
  • Building, integrating and/or maintaining new media ‘content’ for the company’s global website (ex. video clips, online configuration tools, landing pages, etc.)
  • Supporting the development and execution of email marketing and inbound marketing programs (ex. Google AdWords campaigns) from a technical implementation perspective
  • Leading, contributing to, and implementing directives of the company’s overall online strategy
 
Qualifications and Experience:
 
  • Post-secondary education in web development, new media design, interactive arts or related discipline
  • 2+ years of work experience in web or new media design/development role within a Marketing team (ideally B2B)
  • Hands-on knowledge of several of the following technologies:
    • Windows Server
    • WordPress, Joomla or Drupal
    • HTML – intermediate to expert level
    • CSS
    • JavaScript
    • PHP
    • jQuery
    • XML
    • ASP
    • MySQL
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Microsoft Office
  • Awareness and diligence in trends and best practices in web security and vulnerabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to keep pace with changing trends and new best practices in web and digital
  • A mindset for continuous improvement, creativity, and innovation
  • Excellent communications skills
