Project Manager

Smart, Savvy and Associates is excited to be partnering with a digital agency in Bellingham, Washington focused on healthcare and technology brands in their search for a #StandApart Project Manager.

They’re a tight-knit team of passionate strategists, developers, designers, writers, and out-of-the-box thinkers with a common goal: help their clients get more customers to read, watch, order, click or tap. Their clients are global industry leaders who demand innovation, and our clients work hard to bring it.

If you are a consummate juggler: multiple projects, demanding clients, diverse personalities and a steady flow of deadlines – yet you handle it all in stride, and complete every task with a quality outcome, consider applying below!

Work/Life Balance and Location:

Bellingham, Washington is nestled between the rugged Cascade Mountains to the east and the San Juan Islands to the west. It’s the perfect mix of small-town tranquility and big-city amenities. The office is in a newly renovated cannery with large windows overlooking Bellingham Bay and the Islands. They sit at the doorstep to endless fun. Do you like to snowboard? Sail? Shop? Bike? Run? Hike? Fish? Listen to live music? So do they! And that’s just on Wednesday. Bellingham is only 90 minutes from Seattle and 60 minutes from Vancouver, BC.

You:

You have an innate passion for all things digital, a love of learning, and a zest for trying new things. Things that warm your heart: having a plan, helping others succeed, diving into the unknown to find answers (and devise a plan), and a well-worn hoodie. You are conscientious but nimble, and you’re not afraid to fail if it means you learn faster and you learn more (especially because you always have a mitigation plan!). You act thoughtfully with a constant eye to driving progress. You are a natural leader by action, shedding light on the path of next steps and bringing structure to the masses everywhere you go.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive success of each and every assigned project by ensuring a quality of delivery for both the client and for Toolhouse, within the defined parameters of the project.
  • Gain an understanding of client business objectives, product offerings and project objectives to effectively drive the success of the project.
  • Contribute to the creation of project proposals and Statements of Work.
  • Develop and maintain positive client and client-vendor relationships at all levels of the client organization and serve as the client point-of-contact for day-to-day project-related requests.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables within scope and budget constraints.
  • Communicate with and support the Client Services team by proactively identifying, mitigating, and driving project issues and risks to closure.
  • Define and document detailed project plans, gathering input from team leads as needed, including project tasks, milestones, dependencies, and expected levels of effort.
  • Build and maintain project schedules/Gantt charts.
  • Develop project status reports and lead project status meetings.
  • Track and manage project dependencies.
  • Facilitate effective and efficient meetings and discussions with clearly stated objectives and outcomes.
  • Ensure changing resource and project requirements are addressed — including identification and documentation of any changes in scope.
  • Work with the Resourcing team to ensure projects are appropriately staffed.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of project management experience with digital projects, preferably in an agency environment
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external audiences at all levels
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to carefully manage details
  • Able to break down work into manageable and actionable tasks, decisions, outcomes
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of personalities
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling many projects at once
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact and professionalism
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues, gaps, and risks, then course correct before they occur
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, including risk management, scope management, and change management
  • Excellent meeting management and facilitation skills; able to keep meetings on track and set and drive agendas
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff and project teams
  • Knowledge and experience with software development life cycles, web technologies, creative design processes, and marketing and digital strategy projects preferred
  • Passion for technology projects and/or working in a digital agency environment
