Traffic Manager

Smart, Savvy and Associates is excited to be partnering with a digital agency in Bellingham, Washington focused on healthcare and technology brands in their search for a #StandApart Traffic Manager.

They’re a tight-knit team of passionate strategists, developers, designers, writers, and out-of-the-box thinkers with a common goal: help their clients get more customers to read, watch, order, click or tap. Their clients are global industry leaders who demand innovation, and our client works hard to bring it.
If you are a consummate juggler: multiple projects, demanding clients, diverse personalities and a steady flow of deadlines – yet you handle it all in stride, and complete every task with a quality outcome, consider applying below!

Work/Life Balance and Location:

Bellingham, Washington is nestled between the rugged Cascade Mountains to the east and the San Juan Islands to the west. It’s the perfect mix of small-town tranquility and big-city amenities. The office is in a newly renovated cannery with large windows overlooking Bellingham Bay and the Islands. They sit at the doorstep to endless fun. Do you like to snowboard? Sail? Shop? Bike? Run? Hike? Fish? Listen to live music? So do they! And that’s just on Wednesday. Bellingham is only 90 minutes from Seattle and 60 minutes from Vancouver, BC.

You:

Upbeat and resilient, you are motivated by creating opportunities for others, and you feel most successful knowing that you are an integral part of the team success. You must have an avid interest in web technologies — you don’t need to know how to code, but you do need to know how a website gets made, including who contributes what, what dependencies are in play, and how different technologies may affect the workflow. Toss this interest in with a dash of marketing acumen, an innate desire to manage the details while keeping a watchful eye on the big picture, a great sense of humor and an overall pleasant-to-be-around attitude, and voila. You are the linchpin of the studio, and ultimately, the creator of seriously happy clients and a seriously happy team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize studio efficiency and effectiveness across projects and clients
  • Create schedules based on mapping project plans to resourcing availability and capabilities
  • Work closely with project managers, creative and production staff, and the account team to ensure that project schedules accurately reflect resourcing assignments and availability
  • Estimate the workload needs of new opportunities, and translate those estimates into resource assignments as opportunities become projects
  • Proactively monitor the status of all assignments and, as necessary, collaborate with the Project Services and Account teams to make decisions around project prioritization or other solution/risk management techniques
  • Able to see the big picture, across projects, and make quick decisions whenever project schedules are compressed
  • Support account directors and project services personnel by providing clear strategic direction and inspiration to both clients and internal project teams

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience minimum in project management, traffic management, or related role (preferably within an agency environment)
  • Strong technical skills and a solid understanding of production processes for the web, video, and other interactive media.
  • Proven experience allocating and balancing multiple resources across an array of projects.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of talents and personalities while juggling multiple projects all at once.
  • Acute attention to detail with great organizational skills, coupled with an ability to see the big picture.
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, thick skin and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of standard project management tools and methodologies, including risk, scope, budget, timeline and change management.
  • Ability to carefully track and manage details and communicate with staff to ensure action items are resolved.
  • Familiarity with standard project management tools and workflow software, such as JIRA, Confluence, Project, etc. Familiarity with Workamajig is desired.
  • Proven experience scoping and budgeting a variety of digital projects (websites, apps, etc) across skills/functions or tasks.
  • Experience working in a design studio, advertising agency, or related consultant service business is highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Business, Marketing or other related field
