We are excited to partner with a growing UK-headquartered agency in their search for a Senior Account Manager who is a bright, enthusiastic and ambitious account handler to help establish their Vancouver presence. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and entrepreneurial agency account handler to become involved in an exciting new business venture with an already established, award-winning agency.

Reporting to the Account Director (direct) & Business & Strategic Services Director (indirect) the Senior Account Manager will be responsible for:

Main areas of responsibility
  • To proactively manage the day-to-day requirements of the main client account and manage the local satellite office in Vancouver.
  • To support the UK-based management team as required and support new business opportunities and business development activity for the agency.
Account liaison
  • To provide a key point of contact for the client, developing existing client relationships to establish yourself in a position of trust
  • To maintain the highest standard of work operating with tight control over all live jobs to ensure they are processed efficiently to plan and in-line with agreed budgets
  • To attend and contribute towards all client-related meetings, internal working groups and events as required
  • To work proactively and under your own initiative to deliver robust plans which support the overall client plan as agreed with line management and report on marketing effectiveness
  • To effectively manage and develop the account by understanding the client’s needs and culture, proactively work with the client a to generate new opportunities and initiatives as appropriate
  • To administer and manage assigned projects, generating all necessary paperwork to introduce and progress jobs through the agency’s UK hub using required procedures
  • To manage the administration of the local office (Regus) and ensure all contract obligations are adhered to and property matters are managed and reported to UK head office
Day to day responsibility
  • To effectively handle and progress all client briefs through the system, taking briefs and implementing as necessary, managing agency resources to fulfill the brief as is necessary
  • To prepare accurate quotations for every project in line with agency profit objectives
  • To ensure that all work and all quotes obtain client approval before proceeding
  • To take responsibility for all work produced ensuring accuracy and quality always\
  • To maintain all agency processes using the Concept system and ensure that all relevant administration (contact reports, status reports, etc) are correctly prepared and maintained as an accessible record of account activity
  • To ensure all of the client’s reporting requirements are adhered to
  • To maintain strong, responsive relationships with all internal agency departments (creative, studio, planning, development, production and project management)
  • To escalate issues appropriately through line management in-line with agency procedures
  • To assist in the development and growth of the agency by proactively seeking opportunities and pursuing those to conclusion
  • To represent the agency in our Vancouver base in a professional manner to the client, prospects and local suppliers, building relationships to the mutual benefit of both clients, suppliers and agency
Candidate profile

  • Minimum of 3 years prior marketing experience of working at account manager level within an agency or dealer group, ideally in both digital and integrated arenas
  • BS/BA degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • Commercially minded
  • The role will often require you to work alone working remotely with little supervision but with the support of your UK-based delivery teams.
  • A team player of the highest order, able to effectively support and help develop account executives while assisting and taking direction from account directors
  • To maximize revenue and account profitability whenever possible and the ability to constantly review and assess systems and procedures to identify potential improvements
  • Ensure your client receives regular updates and reports showing project plans, objectives, KPIs and results
  • Always represent the agency in a professional manner to clients, suppliers and the industry as a whole
