Content Strategist (6-month contract)

You are considered a content strategy expert in your peer group, and are known for your repeated use of the question “why?” You understand the power of content far past the notion of getting something in front of the customer, but as an actual means to solving business challenges. You’re a natural collaborator and enjoy building strong partnerships with people who have diverse skillsets, to support solving the most complex problems. Unfailingly customer-focused, you’re a big-picture thinker and love a good challenge.

Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, a marketing consultancy firm, in their search for a Content Strategist. This six-month contract role will support a significant client project requiring some additional expertise to serve a new client. If you enjoy working directly with company decision-makers, tackling complex problems, and the strategic process from concept down to detail, consider applying for this exciting opportunity.

About the role:
 
  • Use your expertise in content strategy to support, persuade, and influence marketing strategies that equally consider the ‘big picture’ for the client and amazing user experience
  • Collaborate with client leaders and teams to solve complex problems for a key client
  • Work deeply with the client to maximize their marketing potential through their own internal channels – ploughing through problems both complex and simple
  • You’ll be challenged and pushed beyond your comfort zone routinely


About you:
 
  • 7+ years’ experience in content strategy, either agency or a large organization, with overall understanding of strategic principles of digital marketing
  • Excellent communication skills including confident and persuasive presentation style, with top-notch writing and editing ability
  • Experienced in user experience, with ability to collaborate with other team members (software engineers, creative/editorial, etc.) to analyze and use data to develop insights, strategy, and content
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing content strategies for use across multiple channels and through multiple content cycles
  • Expertise in both hands-on ‘doing’ and leadership of marketing activities such as designing content models, creating tagging structures, developing taxonomies, and leading content audits of strategists who take on any number of these activities
  • Able to travel as required (U.S.)

Interview
