Business Development Manager

You are a fearless sales pro who is known for “getting stuff done” with energy and relentless drive. You’re a natural relationship builder, and are skilled at listening to learn what’s being said – and not. You have built up a solid career in sales within a manufacturing and/or distribution industry, with several years of experience managing key accounts across a large territory. Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, a manufacturer and distribution company in the trucking industry, in their search for a Business Development Manager. Based from the Vancouver office, this role will be key in the company’s growth across North American retail and distribution channels. About the Role
 
  • Build out retailer and distribution channels across Canada and the U.S.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Research and connect with potential new clients, including national-level retailers
  • Maintain CRM database with all client contacts and sales activities
  • Collaborate with marketing team to support brand awareness campaigns, special events, and marketing programs


About You
 
  • 10-15+ years’ experience in business development and sales, with significant experience managing key and/or national accounts
  • Demonstrated sales experience expanding into new markets within the consumer package goods, manufacturing, or distribution industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and databases
  • Works strategically and methodically, with excellent ability to prioritize, anticipate and follow up
  • Assertive and energetic; positive and pleasant; enjoys interacting with clients and team members alike
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence in developing and making presentations to company decision makers
  • Available to travel on a regular/ongoing basis, across North America
