Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, a global company in the automotive industry, in their search for a Director, Human Resources. Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Strategy, this role will be key in supporting the company through a high-growth period on an international level. About the role:

The Director of Human Resources will develop and lead all aspects of the department, including programs, procedures, and guidelines for HR operations which will align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. The role will oversee and manage team members including consultants and training specialists; be responsible for budget development and monitoring; establish measurement tools to assess achievements; and report on development of the department and overall workforce.

Additional areas of focus will include coordination of global workforce; human resources information systems; training and development; recruitment and employee engagement; compensation and benefits; legal compliance; organization development.

About you:
  • 10+ years’ leadership experience in human resources, ideally with an international company
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Organizational Development
  • Additional training in employment law, labour relations, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, etc.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization including the executive team
  • Effective leadership skills with ability to coach and develop team members
  • Experienced in compensation and benefit administration, with knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel and database management
  • Fluency in French is strongly preferred
