Email Marketing Specialist

Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client in their search for an Email Marketing Specialist. Reporting the Manager of Direct and Digital Marketing, this role provides key functions related to designing and executing email-marketing campaigns.

You are a tech whiz who knows your SQLs from your XMLs. You have a solid understanding of the marketing concepts driving your design. User Experience is a paramount motivator that leads you to be continually learning, testing, and never resting on status quo.

About the role:
 
  • Develop responsive websites, custom plugins, web applications, and databases in collaboration with internal teams, with regular QA, testing, and fixing of technical glitches plus updating content and design
  • Visual design of interactive solutions such as websites, banner advertising, emails, landing pages, social media and web apps
  • Creating and maintaining reporting and dashboards to correlate data from Google Analytics, social properties, etc. to track and improve performance and measure against KPIs
  • Monitor and update server as required, collaborate on issues with server support team
  • Develop coding emails using HTML and CSS based off of wireframe layouts, to ensure responsiveness and consistency across devices and platforms
  • Creating mock-ups for proposed project pages, and create technical and graphic aspects of website
  • Support data collection to track, measure, and optimize user interaction
 
About you:
 
  • Post-secondary education in Web Design or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in web development and design, ideally within a marketing team
  • Experienced in WordPress development, with a strong understanding of website best practices, web browser limitations, search engine optimization, paid search and mobile content optimization
  • Proficient skills using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; experience with UX copywriting
  • Expertise with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Ajax, jQuery; proficiency working in a range of web technologies, e.g. SQL, PHP, JavaScript, JSON, Ajax, XML, HTML, CSS
  • A strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, mobile optimization, general web functions and standards, responsive design, and information architecture
  • Ability to design, plan, program and execute email-marketing campaigns
  • Good interpersonal skills with strength in sharing knowledge with team members across the organization, and explaining technical processes to individuals/groups in non-technical roles
  • Excellent time management, planning and execution skills
