Graphic Designer – Cloverdale Paint

You are a detail-oriented design pro, who likes to keep it down-to-earth and practical in terms of design and your relationships with colleagues. Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, Cloverdale Paint, in their search for a Graphic Designer. Reporting to the Creative Coordinator, this role produces materials mainly for Cloverdale Paint, and to a lesser extent, its US-subsidiary, Rodda Paint. About the role:

The role of Graphic Designer provides graphic art services, and contributes to scheduling, production and management of creative assets and marketing materials, with a focus on:
 
  • Production of mock-ups and proofs for review against creative briefs and project scope
  • PDF workflow from concept through production and delivery for a range of materials including wholesale, commercial and retail sales flyers, advertisements, signage, labels, corporate and internal communications, conference materials, newsletters, online/digital content
  • Liaise with internal and external clients throughout the design and production process to ensure clear deliverables and expectations from start to completion, including material, budget and strategic advice when required
  • Create designs as required; review for errors before production and publishing
  • Manage client proposals from concept through to design, print and production
  • Participate in related industry association meetings, if necessary
  • Work with service providers on quotations for production of materials generated by the department
  • Liaising with service providers throughout project timeline to ensure deadlines are met and material is produced and delivered as per specifications and customer expectations
  • Follow-up with accounting and service provider to ensure invoices are accurate and paid on time


About you:
 
  • A degree or diploma in Graphic Arts
  • 2-3 years’ professional working experience with current Adobe creative applications, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office suite product, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Competent knowledge of MAC and Windows OS systems to manage digital assets
  • Knowledge of retail and wholesale building materials and/or construction industries


How you’ll #StandApart:
 
  • Basic copywriting skills – creating and/or updating content for brochures, signage and advertisements
  • Working knowledge of video application - such as Adobe Premier and/or Final Cut
  • Working knowledge of French language
