Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, SilverStar Mountain Resort, in their search for a Sales & Marketing Director. Reporting to the Managing Director, this key role leads sales, marketing, business development, and strategic partnerships. About the role:

  • Develop ongoing sales plans, policies, and programs
  • Set and activate sales goals, quotas, and budgets; conduct sales forecasts and reports
  • Develop new business accounts and partnerships
  • Lead and develop sales team; manage sales performance of multiple sales units
  • Participate in strategic planning activities through analysis and explanation of growth, competition, market trends and current business environment
  • Collaborate with executive team on strategic plans and business plans
  • Execute strategic marketing plan; lead and support tactical roll-out at divisional, regional, and international levels
  • Create marketing campaigns for new products and service
  • Conduct market research and analysis; identify new market segments
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies, reselling agreements, and other growth opportunities
Community & Clients
  • Work closely with the Canadian Tourism Commission, BC Tourism, TOTA and other tourism funding agencies
  • Maximize relationships with key retails and wholesale partners
  • Make presentations to volunteer organizations and committees
  • Contribute to event planning for promotional purposes
  • Collaborate on processes to gather continuous client feedback
About you:
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or related area
  • 5+ years’ senior leadership experience, ski/tourism sector preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience is sales and/or marketing
  • Able to develop marketing strategy and roll-out from concept through to evaluation
  • Excellent communication ability including strong presentation skills, clear business writing, and interacting with confidence at all levels of the organization
  • Solid time management, prioritization, delegation, and decision-making skills, within a collaborative and nimble environment
  • Strong financial management skills including budget development and financial reporting
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite and email
