Project Manager, Technical Development Products

You are a technical wiz who speaks in both tech and plain language: as expertly as you work alongside the coders, you can talk with the marketers and other non-tech types to ensure understanding. Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, a Vancouver digital agency, in their search for a Project Manager. This role is specific to the development of technical products, and requires a PM who is knowledgeable about technology and independently stays current with latest trends and developments. About the role:
 
  • Project management including creating project plans, tracking budgets, monitoring schedules, managing project scope, and communicating funnel requirements to internal teams
  • Develop and manage complete technical product roadmap
  • Collaborate on solutions for development tasks through feature development, use of new tools
  • Review and assess user and functional requirement specifications
  • Assess potential risks for each project and communicate arising issues and proposed solutions to internal stakeholders; maintain progress by balancing technical constraints with business needs


About you:
 
  • Post-secondary education in computer science engineering or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in the software industry as a project manager for technical products, with preference for experience in an Agile Software environment
  • Recent tech work with a similar stack to JavaScript, CSS, React JS, React Native, PHP & MySQL; with preference for experience coding as a developer
  • Strong track record of project management with results that are on time, on budget, and delivered in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated understanding of the technical project lifecycle
  • Confident team leadership and ability to develop relationships at all level of an organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to share updates to team and executive; effective interaction with technical teams and those without technical knowledge
  • Ability to communicate project updates and requirements both upwards and laterally
