Marketing Communications Manager

Smart, Savvy + Associated has partnered with our client, a health products company, in their search for a Marketing Communications Manager. This key role reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and will develop product branding, marketing strategy, and work directly on product launch planning and execution in multiple markets. About the role:
  • Support the field sales and marketing teams with strategy, product launches and scheduling 
  • Manage content marketing, traditional and digital advertising campaigns
  • Develop an influencer marketing strategy in alignment with the brand positioning; build leverage campaigns to support and communicate relationships 
  • Manage relationships and day-to-day operations with preferred vendors and communication agencies
  • Develop and manage the company website, corporate video and photo content; monitor website analytics data and improve user experience using learnings from data
  • Develop the social media strategy; oversee the social media agency / in-house social media manager
  • Develop and execute CRM campaigns to nurture current customer relationships and grow the customer base
  • Collaborate with the field sales and marketing teams to develop national sales tools 
  • Conduct marketing research for insights about category and consumer trends, and behaviour that inform marketing and product strategy
  • Manage public relations, including writing and distributing media releases and building relationships with various media channels
  • Budget management and monthly follow-up of internal invoicing 
  • Set up KPIs to track, measure and analyze marketing communication efforts; implement improvements based on analysis

About you:
  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing communications, within food and beverage industry experience
  • Experienced in brand communications and developing strategy to support business growth and development, including new product development
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative to respond quickly and problem solve on the run
  • Strong project management skills to develop work plans, timelines, budgets
  • Natural relationship-builder at all levels of an organization as well as with external stakeholders in local, national, and international markets; able to manage relationships with outside agencies
  • Balances creativity with attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines for multiple projects and campaigns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 20% of time, within US, Canada and internationally.
  This role can be based out of the client's Vancouver, BC or San Diego, CA office.
