Web Manager (Marketing)

Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, a well-respected post-secondary institution, in their search for a Web Manager. This key role within the Marketing & Communications Department champions the school’s online presence and supports the ongoing development of digital strategy. You are a marketer first and foremost. Digital strategy is your strength, and you have tried-and-true tactics to drive audience back to your site from various sources of content. You’re comfortable leading others to execute on social and digital tactics, as well as working in collaboration with other departments to achieve best business outcomes.

About the role:

The Web Manager’s role is varied with dual focus on technology and marketing, with major tasks in the areas of: strategy and planning; quality control; and operational management.
 
  • Support annual marcomm objectives through web, social and digital marketing strategies
  • Optimize online presence and customer engagement through ongoing strategies to build engagement, improved user experience, integration with social media, etc.
  • Build web and digital marketing tactics to support brand marketing, recruitment campaigns, creating web assets, implementing SEO / SEM, etc.
  • Function as main point-of-contact for all web projects across the school, including microsites, design updates, new functions, etc.
  • Track and analyze website, social media and digital marketing campaign performance, share insights related to business objectives and best practice
  • Monitor all website and web properties to ensure appropriate professionalism and brand adherence; recommend improvements to appropriate departments
  • Leads work related to website operational and functional lifecycle, troubleshoots and works with IT staff and external vendors
 
About you:
 
  • Post-secondary education in digital media, marketing, communication or related area
  • 4+ years’ experience in website management in a large organization
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and launching large websites with responsive design
  • Strong project management skills for IT (website) projects, with ability to move project forward through individual work and collaboration with other teams
  • Experience working with enterprise-level CMS (preferably with Sitecore, Sitefinity or other similar .NET enterprise CMS); working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks
  • Skilled in integration of social media into web strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with web platform migration on a large scale
  • Knowledgeable of implementation of multilingual web content
  • Hands-on experience with Drupal or other similar PHP-based CMS
