Marketing & Communications Director
 
You are a senior strategic communicator with mastery of media relations, brand communications, digital marketing, and leadership. Smart, Savvy + Associates has partnered with our client, the BC Tech Association, in their search for their new Marketing & Communications Director. This key leadership role reports to the CEO and supports all BC Tech marketing and communications including communications, digital marketing campaigns and major initiative announcements. About the role:
 
  • Member of the Senior Leadership Team, collaborate on communications support for projects, announcements, and initiatives, with accountability for alignment with big picture
  • Direct strategic communications for internal and external messaging; develop and implement marketing communications initiatives that drive BC Tech’s mission and objectives;
  • Lead the marketing team, work in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager to develop and coach team members
  • Manage and develop all communications for our CEO including speeches, talking points etc.
  • Support the team’s content development, themed campaigns, and project planning
  • Oversee the communication and brand development of the annual award show
  • Collaborate with the Director of Public Policy on communications related to our policy agenda and advocacy platforms helping to develop speeches, working with media partners
 
About you:
 
  • 8+ years of media relations, brand communications and positioning
  • 5+ years of team leadership, coaching, and employee development experience
  • Experience working with a CEO or C-level on communications initiatives
  • Knowledge of the BC Tech community and passion for its growth and future
  • Digital marketing experience including social media management, email marketing and content management
