Product Development Specialist

Smart, Savvy + Associates is excited to be working our client in their search for a Product Development Specialist to support their not-for-profit, healthcare-related society. This role reports to the Manager of Product Development and supports performance analysis of existing and future products. About the role:
 
  • Accountable for accumulating data and knowledge to support detailed product review, usually acquired through ongoing consultation with various internal leadership teams and analysis of external market conditions
  • Researches and analyzes data to develop and explain recommendations for new products / product options; prepares business case studies to support ideas for innovative new products
  • Maintains all product information and related documents through changes to product lines, and functions as subject matter expert for all products to support sales teams
  • Responsible for product performance throughout the end-to-end lifecycle, evaluates arising issues and creates solutions with significant scope and potential for impact upon other work areas
  • Manage contracts with external product vendors including evaluation of new applications, building on existing contracts, and ongoing management
  • Facilitates communication and discussion as required with internal and external stakeholders, including technical matters, project details, and confidential internal operations
 
About you: 
 
  • Post Secondary education in Marketing, Business, or related area
  • 3+ years’ experience in marketing or sales, with related accountability for revenue and operational service levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong ability to understand process and outcomes, and to write business case documents
  • Superior professional skills, including working effectively with teams across the organization; creating and delivering visually strong presentations
  • Demonstrated experience with product innovation, preferably in an area related to healthcare, insurance or financial services
