Account Director

Our client, one of Canada’s fastest growing companies focused in experiential marketing, is searching for a #StandApart Account Director to join their Toronto office.

The Account Director is a senior client counselor on CPG and/or Social and Sustainability brands. You will lead and manage strategic programs, provide day-to-day advice and direction to clients, and empower direct reports.

Your Day-to-Day

Account management:
  • Oversee large and complex accounts
  • Understand client’s business and competitive landscape
  • Work with teams to develop 360 account plans and on-strategy results
  • Lead account teams
  • Ensure client programs are on-budget and delivering quality service
  • Oversee timely and detailed invoicing / overall account monitoring
  • Look ahead to manage workflow, assignments and steady stream of income
Staff management:
  • Actively mentor team members and provide regular feedback
  • Conduct annual performance
  • Act as mentor for others not under direct supervision
  • Sustain a collaborative work environment through enthusiasm, support and open communication
New business / client relationships:
  • Identify and secure new and organic business opportunities and achieve results
  • Lead new business responses - RFPs, pitches etc.
  • Accurately and compellingly describe parent company family of services
  • Strong presentation skills
Client reporting:
Work collaboratively with senior team to develop and implement strategies that broaden the impact of the company, build revenue, fuel the attraction and retention of clients, and ensure effective staff management, education and communication

  • 10+ years of relevant industry or agency experience
  • College or university degree or equivalent
  • Proven strong strategic thinker and account leader
  • Solid project management and client relationship skills
  • Excellent team player: passionate, positive, high-energy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative in ideas, account solutions and strategic “out-of-the-box” thinking
  • Solid understanding of the experiential marketing industry and latest trends
  • Understanding of social media tactics and their potential application
