Manager, Operations / Human Resources

You are more than a “people person” – you understand how to motivate, coach, and build relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization. You’re also a detail-oriented project manager, who uses technology, data and workflow processes to inform and support your decisions related to resource allocation in project based work environments.  You thrive on owning the ability to getting things done.

Smart, Savvy + Associates is excited to partner with our client, an event production company, in their search for a Manager, Operations and Human Resources. As a member of the leadership team, this role supports day-to-day operations through project management and people resource planning. About the Role
 
  • Liaison with senior leadership to allocate resources through strategic planning to work with complex event management cycles
  • Research and implement efficient work processes for operations and project management, leading technology updates and training
  • Provide IT setup and support for the office team, liaising with external providers as required
  • Provide data via automated tracking programs, to support Finance Department
  • Accountable for Human Resources programs including planning, hiring, compensation and benefits
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives including recognition, professional development, feedback; provide direct employee services including mentoring, training, etc.
  • Responsible for policies and procedures, and ensuring alignment with company policy, procedure, strategy, etc.


About You

The Basics:
 
  • 5+ years’ experience in project planning/management
  • 5+ years’ experience in human resources, with thorough knowledge of BC Employment Standards legislation and best practices
  • Knowledgeable in the complexities of event managment
  • Proven experience to strategically develop, prioritize and execute tasks on time and on budget
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and document sharing platforms e.g. Google Drive
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to motivate, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
 
How You’ll #StandApart:
 
  • CPHR designation is desirable
  • Experience in live event planning/production
