Marketing Director

Smart, Savvy + Associates is excited to partner with Fresh Tracks Canada (FTC), a fast-growing online travel company based in Vancouver, in their search for a Marketing Director. Working closely with the leadership team, this key team member will play an integral role in building on the company’s vision of building a gateway brand for vacation travel in Canada. FTC specializes in creating extraordinary vacations for visitors to Canada and has developed a “black box” for converting website visitors to bookings using a proprietary “high-tech, high-touch” strategy. About the Role:

Reporting to the executive leadership team, the Marketing Director is responsible for:
  • Leading the development of the company’s annual marketing plan, with specific initiatives and objectives for evolution of the brand and sub-brands and the various markets and customer acquisition channels
  • Managing the performance and delivery of all company websites (includes the launch of a new FTC site in early 2018)
  • Leadership of the Web design team, to build the brand and developing tactics to increase traffic and conversion
  • Devising and implementing online marketing campaigns to acquire and nurture leads from key markets, including UK, Australia, and USA
  • Managing the delivery of on-brand messaging through all marketing programs
  • Implementing and monitoring the delivery of the marketing plan with realistic performance measures and KPIs
  • Build and foster a highly engaged marketing team and agency/consultant ecosystem
  • Ensuring the company’s lead generation process is meeting financial, organizational and customer fulfillment needs
  • Driving the use of marketing technology and systems to ensure accurate and insightful customer and prospect data collection
  • Building relationships with key partners, including with suppliers and tourist boards, to identify and develop marketing and partnership opportunities
  • Identifying programs and strategies to develop repeat and referral business, travel agent sales and other identified opportunities
  • Oversee and lead all marketing research and voice of the customer data collection
About You:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in consumer marketing, with at least 3 years working for a mid to large consumer brand
  • 3+ years of team leadership experience
  • Track record in delivering online marketing campaigns to generate and nurture leads
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing
  • Willingness to bring big-company learning to a smaller company where there is less bureaucracy but also less supporting structure
  • Results-driven individual with a strong attention to detail
  • Strategic mindset, with proven ability to make difficult decisions
  • High EQ, well-able to build relationships at all levels of an organization, and with external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant field
  • Passion for travel and Canada
