Account Director (Marketing)

Work/Life Balance and Location:

Bellingham, Washington is nestled between the rugged Cascade Mountains to the east and the San Juan Islands to the west. It’s the perfect mix of small-town tranquility and big-city amenities. The Toolhouse office is in a newly renovated cannery with large windows overlooking Bellingham Bay and the Islands. They sit at the doorstep to endless fun. Do you like to snowboard? Sail? Shop? Bike? Run? Hike? Fish? Listen to live music? So do they! And that’s just on Wednesday. Bellingham is only 90 minutes from Seattle and 60 minutes from Vancouver, BC.

Opportunity Overview:

You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering exceptional customer service, and growing revenue within existing accounts. You will be the primary client advocate for Toolhouse project teams to ensure that client’s business needs are consistently being met, and you will serve as a day-to-day strategic advisor to these clients.

Your world will revolve around projects that take form in major websites, mobile applications, web content such as video or social media posts, and CRM-driven campaign work. Clients will look to you to review their website analytics in order to analyze campaign effectiveness and offer relevant insights on occasion as well.

You will thrive in this role if you have experience working with large-scale websites, mobile applications, A/B testing, CRM systems, and marketing automation platforms. Having a fundamental understanding of SEO best practices, web analytics, SEM campaigns, and social media strategy will be an asset as well.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the client’s business, products, competitors and market landscape, and act as the primary client advocate to support project teams
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships at all levels in the client’s organization to facilitate long-term profitable growth
  • Deliver exceptional client service and maintain high levels of client satisfaction
  • Participate in shaping marketing strategies and tactics that will be presented to the client for consideration
  • Provide ongoing strategic and tactical advice to clients on various digital marketing initiatives and continue to highlight Toolhouse’s value in the digital marketing space
  • Work with project managers to manage complex digital projects from both a strategic and business relationship perspective
  • Liaise with Toolhouse staff as a part of everyday project activities to assure Toolhouse is consistently meeting client objectives
  • Assist clients with needs definition, the creation of various presentations and documentation
  • Develop comprehensive statements of work and project briefs and ensure all legal documentation is accurate and in place for each phase of a project
  • Conduct ongoing account planning to ensure all opportunities and challenges within an assigned client are understood, solutions identified, and that the account is being developed in a strategic and successful manner
  • Keep up with technology trends such as web, mobile, CRM, social, and participate in regular knowledge exchanges with peers


About You:
 
  • 5+ years experience in a client-facing role at a digital marketing agency, or within a digital marketing role on the client/brand side
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing, Internet technologies, social media and mobile
  • Demonstrable experience in relationship management or account management with close involvement in delivery of work and growing service offerings within an account
  • 4-year degree – preferably with a specialty in Marketing
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (1-2 times per month)
  • Ability to create professional-looking documents and presentations coupled with strong presentation/public speaking skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to carefully manage details
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of personalities
  • Ability to work across multiple projects at once
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact, and professionalism
  • Experience in healthcare or technology marketing a plus
